Value vs reference
Në shqip: Vlerë dhe referencë
ShpjegimiSQ
EnglishEN
When you assign a number or string to another variable, the value is copied. But with lists and objects, both variables often point to the same object (a reference) — change one and the other changes too. This causes lots of bugs.
Giving a friend a photocopy of your notes (value) is different from giving them your notebook (reference): if they write in it, yours changes too.
Shembull kodipython
a = [1, 2]
b = a # b tregon te e NJËJTA listë
b.append(3)
print(a) # [1, 2, 3] — u ndryshua edhe a!
