Indeksi më i zakonshëm është B-tree (për =, <, > dhe ORDER BY). Indekset e përbëra mbulojnë disa kolona (renditja ka rëndësi!); GIN shërben për kërkim teksti dhe JSON. Shumë indekse e ngadalësojnë shkrimin.
