Testimi funksional kontrollon çfarë bën sistemi (a hyn përdoruesi me fjalëkalimin e saktë?). Jo-funksional kontrollon si e bën: shpejtësinë, sigurinë, aksesueshmërinë, përdorshmërinë, sjelljen nën ngarkesë.

Functional testing checks what the system does (can a user log in with the right password?). Non-functional checks how it does it: speed, security, accessibility, usability, behaviour under load.
